There are various adjustments to be made to a monitor or a graphics card and each of them is ideal for certain applications. Some of them might work better on a lower resolution, while others require different settings. Certain color settings can be ideal for watching movies, but they might not do much good if you are designing something. If you don't want to waste valuable time with these settings, PowerStrip can help you. The first thing you should know is that it lets you make any display adjustments, sparing you from going through your operating system's countless menus. Furthermore, you can save any settings as different profiles and apply them instantly.

The application may look a bit old, but you can be assured that it works fine on any Windows version, from Win 95 to Win 7, including 64-bit editions. It also supports a very wide variety of graphics cards. On a modern day computer, you can install it almost instantly. You should also know that PowerStrip can support multiple graphics cards, simultaneously, even if they are from different vendors.

While running, PowerStrip displays a system tray icon. You can right click this icon and navigate through various sub-menus, to bring up different settings windows. Besides basic display adjustments, like changing the resolution, color depth, refresh rate and more, the software lets you change the color and performance settings, on separate windows. When your settings are complete, you can save them as a profile, which can be selected from a sub-menu.

It is also possible to create application profiles. Once you target a program's executable or shortcut, you can tick a series of options to enable or disable certain features, like multiple monitors, DirectX AGP support and more. Additionally, you can select your display, color and performance profiles, from different drop menus. All these settings can be saved as a profile as well. When you launch the targeted application, PowerStrip will apply your display settings immediately.

The software provides many more options. You can make certain configurations to its behavior, bring up monitor or adapter information, enable multiple monitors support, manage resources, hot keys and more. The options are well organized in menus and sub-menus and you can find them immediately, without getting lost.

Pros

You can save numerous display settings and apply them instantly. Moreover, PowerStrip can change your settings automatically, when a program of your choosing is launched. The available features are well structured in a series of sub-menus, making your work much easier.

Cons

When using the software's unregistered version, you will have to wait a few seconds before its options are loaded. PowerStrip's unique functionality will spare you from making the same adjustments over and over again. It enables you to apply multiple display settings with a single click.
